I have recently finished “Sleight of Mouth” by Robert Dilts and thought that I would share my thinking with you. In essence this is a nice easy read littered with examples and descriptions of general NLP patterns. However, looking at the cover, the style of art work, the pages etc would lead you to believe that this book was written in the eighties or even before, yet it was published in 1999. So? I hear you say, well, I feel that NLP has moved on a lot and this progression of NLP has not really been adequately reflected in the book.
When I was on a Time Line TherapyTM course I decided to invest in the “Secret of Creating Your Future” by Tad James, which in essence is the book written as a metaphor for the Time Line TherapyTM (TLT) model. I did deliberate before buying it as I had a strong suspicion that most of the material would be covered in the TLT course, and I was right. However, on the course we were taught the techniques around removing limiting decisions and putting goals in your future time line.
